The online blackjack player wins when the total value of cards in his hand is closer to 21 than those held by the dealer, without going over 21. A hand that goes over 21 is a loser. If you and the dealer have the same card total it is called a push or a tie and all money is refunded. If you happen to hit a blackjack on your first two cards you get paid 3-2.

 

As you are playing online blackjack you add up your cards total value and decide whether you need to take another card to increase your total or keep the cards you already have and hope the dealer will either bust or have a total lower than you. When you draw an ace, you can use it as a 1 or an 11.

 

 

The dealer must hit until his total is 17 or above. When his hand is between 17 and 21, he must stand. If the dealer goes over 21 he automatically loses. If the dealer busts, then any player with a hand that did not bust is a winner.

 

Most online casinos will also allow you to split, double down or buy insurance so you want to check the rules for these options as you play online blackjack.
